Indonesia Batik Heritage Will be Annual Fashion Event

JAKARTA - Celebrating the national batik day which falls on October 2, 2015, MNC Fashion held a fashion show titled Indonesia Batik Heritage held at Shangri-La Hotel, Friday (10/16/2015).

""MNC Fashion has a program of heritage which is one of the flagship programs. We seek Indonesian heritage that we can lift because batik and woven are good impressions for society so that we explore batik from all provinces in Indonesia,"" said Deputy Programming and Production of MNC Channels Henry Juniffer in Indonesia Batik Heritage event at Shangrila Hotel, Friday (10/16/2015).

Interestingly, Indonesia Batik Heritage not only held a fashion show but also give Batik Icon Award to designers and entrepreneurs.

They are Chairman of the Indonesian Entrepreneur Association (HIPMI) of 2011-2014 period, Raja Sapta Oktohari, Chairman of the HIPMI of 2015-2018 period, Bahlil Lahadalia, Treasurer of HIPMI of 2015-2018 period Rony Fauzan, Designer and Owner of Faradju, Titin Faradju and Alleira Jaka brand.

""Designers and entrepreneurs have contributed to the world of fashion and have their own characteristics such as Faradju and Alleira which brought Batik into the modern era,"" said Henry.

In the same occasion, Managing Director of MNC Channels Lina Pricilla explained, Indonesia Batik Heritage was also held as a forum for Indonesian batik designer to show their works in batik day.

""This is the first time for us to hold the event and it will become an annual event. Today, we also will present a collection of batik from Faradju, Alleira and Leny Agustin,"" said Lina Pricilla.

Lina also hoped that the event was also attended by socialites could make all people can love batik. ""We hope that people can love, respect and develop batik because batik is not only used at a wedding,"" she said.
