    PANDEGLANG - MNC Peduli distributed 15 units’ boats to fishermen in Pandeglang Regency, Banten, from the results of donations from all people elements in Tangerang Regency. Distribution of 15 boats was carried out at TPI Sukanegara, Carita District, Pandeglang Regency, on Thursday (6/27/2019).

    Tangerang Regent, Ahmed Zaki Iskandar, said that the distribution of 15 boats originated from people fundraisers in Tangerang District during the anniversary celebration on December 27, 2018, ago. Then the Tangerang Regency Government asked MNC Peduli to contribute to the event.

    Zaki explained, from the results of discussions with the Regency Government of Pandeglang and also MNC Peduli, it was finally decided that the assistance would be given in the form of a fishing boat that was much needed by the people, especially fishermen.

    “Because almost a thousand more fishing boats were damaged and washed away due to the tsunami yesterday,” he said.

    According to Zaki, MNC Peduli has a reputation as a foundation, a social institution that not only helps the health sector, social sector, but also other sectors, including the economy.

    Alhamdulillah, we chose MNC Peduli to help distribute the funds collected from the people and all elements of the Tangerang Regency people,” he said.

    Pandeglang Regent, Irna Narulita, expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by the people of Tangerang District, which was very useful after the tsunami disaster on December 23, evening.

    “We are trusted to be a facilitator to distribute the funds collected from the people of Tangerang Regency. The results of coordination with the Pandeglang Regency Government, which is currently needed, is a boat, and we agreed with the Regent (Tangerang District) in the form of boats for fishermen who were victims of the tsunami disaster,” said Syafril.

    Syafril also hopes that the boat could help and give benefit to fishermen on the coast of the Pandeglang Regency. "We hope that assistance from the community and the Tangerang Regency government could give much of benefits to the people,” he said.

    Responding to the assistance, one of the fishermen, Ansori (40), was grateful for the distribution of the boat so that now he can earn a living for the family.

    Alhamdulillah, we got help from this boat. For the past four months, we have been unemployed, many work odd jobs, some have become laborers, farmers, and are totally paralyzed,” Ansori said.
