“Babak Gerbang” KDI 2015 Has Begun Tonight

JAKARTA – Started from Tuesday, April 7, 2015, Kontes Dangdut Indonesia (KDI) 2015 will be more exciting because it will continue to “Babak Gerbang”. KDI 2015 has selected 42 best contestants who succeed in “Babak Seleksi”, held since 16 March 2015.

KDI 2015 previously had 7 DMD Show contestants to get a golden ticket so there are 49 contestants that will compete in “Babak Gerbang”. It also provides an opportunity for 3 of the 14 contestants who were selected to perform again through the Wild Card on Monday, April 6, 2015 as they are considered to have a high potential to be Dangdut star in the future. From 6 contestants in each show, 2 contestants with lowest number of SMS support must leave KDI 2015. Only 24 participants who qualify for the next round of the contest will perform at the end of April.

The story of contestants’ struggle can be an inspiration to the audiences. One is Shema from Surabaya who had a child born with a cleft lip that requires 5 times surgery in order to recover, but she only afford one operation due to lack of funding. Her pay as a singer is not sufficient for next surgeries. Therefore, she joined KDI 2015 and hoped she can get her luck to fund her child’s treatment. However, she lost in “Babak Seleksi”.
