JAKARTA - PT Media Nusantara Citra Tbk (MNC Group) stated the performance of RCTI+ has been very good since it was launched on August 23 yesterday. MNCN-coded issuers' revenues from digital advertising and content will increase.
Until the end of September 2019, Monthly Active Users (MAU) of RCTI+ reached more than 1 million. This makes RCTI+ become the fastest-growing OTT video streaming platform in the country.
RCTI+ is targeted to reach 5 million MAU with an estimated revenue of USD 5 million by the end of 2019. Next year, this application is targeted to have more than 20 million MAU with an estimated revenue of USD 30 million or 5 percent of total MNCN revenue.
Aside from RCTI+, the MNCN network's multi-channel YouTube business also continues to increase. In the last two months, MNCN's Youtube channel reached 21.1 billion views or 5.48 percent of YouTube's total traffic in Indonesia. The number of videos uploaded on MNCN channels in the same period reached 3.43 percent of the total uploaded videos on Youtube from Indonesia.
The high views compared to this upload indicate that MNCN content is attractive to Youtube users. This makes MNCN maintain the first position in terms of views and subscribers among all local Indonesian content.
Besides digital, the MNCN TV business also continues to rank first in terms of TV audience share (prime time). As of October 2, 2019, MNCN's prime time audience share (RCTI, MNC TV, GTV, and INEWS) reached 41.8 percent.
MNCN maintains the top position of primetime through regular drama and special content, such as talent search events, music, and awards. Monetization of special programs also increasingly does not depend on ratings, but on the reach, the strength of the virus, and positive image, so it bodes well for the marketing of clients and sponsors' products.
“I am confident in the latest developments where digital advertising and content revenue have been a strong growth driver,” MNC Group Chairman Hary Tanoesoedibjo (HT) said, Monday (7/10/2019).
During the first six months of 2019, MNC Group's revenue from digital advertising and content reached Rp2.2 trillion or 25 percent of total revenue. This achievement grew 48 percent compared to the same period last year, which amounted to IDR 839 billion.
“Digital advertising and content revenue will reach more than 40 percent in 2022 and 50 percent in 2024, due to the company's expected increase in market share and significant growth of internet advertising and digital content for the coming years,” HT said.
