JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri with his entourage visited MNC Group at iNews Tower. The visit aimed to socialize the KPK's vision, mission and strategic plan (restra) over the next period.
This visit was a part of the sequence of KPK’s leaders in visiting several ministries and institutions. During his visit, Firli appreciated the media under MNC Group because they are developing rapidly and always keep up to date with the current trends.
"I appreciate MNC for its growth and development following the rapid changes," Firli said at iNews Tower, MNC Group Complex, Jakarta, Monday (02/10/2020).
Firli came with two Deputy Chairmen, namely Lili Pintauli Siregar and Nurul Ghufron. In addition to the leaders, the KPK Spokesperson Ali Fikri was also present.
KPK, Firli revealed, had also proposed cooperation with MNC Group Executive Chairman Hary Tanoesoedibjo (HT). The cooperation aims to enable MNC Group to assist KPK's work in combating corruption in Indonesia.
"I told Pak Hary, as the leader of MNC Group, one thing. I asked whether or not it is possible to create a program regarding corruption prevention. Therefore, it would be a means to encourage Indonesians to prevent corruption,” he said.
HT, on the other hand, was welcome with the proposal suggested by Firli. According to HT, it is an obligation as an Indonesian to help battling or even eradicating corruption. Thus, it will not only rely on a handful of people or one agency only.
"We are very welcome to collaborate with KPK because if KPK succeeds in reducing corruption cases with the prevention program suggested, it will as well mean that Indonesia succeeds too. This is our shared obligation," HT said.
"Our door will be open as wide as possible to help KPK in terms of reporting, socialization and all other stuff related to spreading community awareness to avoid corruption,” said HT.
Firli was welcomed by HT, accompanied by iNews CEO David Fernando Audy, MNC Investama Director Henry Suparman, Legal, Corsec and iNews Director Wijaya Kusuma, and MNC Media News Director Ray Wijaya. The editors in chief at MNC Media were also present.
